Workshop: How to test the modded BIOS with SLIC

This guide refers to testing the modded BIOS with SLIC information on Windows Vista / Windows 7 (all editions):

• Download and run the "SLIC Dump Toolkit 2.0" from this blog. Right-click and run it as Administrator
• If the software shows information on the SLIC table inside your BIOS, your mod does work correctly and you can go on to test the certificate and product key combination
• Download an OEM certificate file and save it e.g. in C:\XRM-MS
• Click on "Start" and enter "cmd" in the search field, press "Enter" and right-click on it. Run it as Administrator. If needed, confirm with clicking on "Yes"
  
• Enter "cd\" in the command line, "Enter"
• Enter following command: 

slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\XRM-MS\OEM.xrm-ms

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!

• Enter the following command:

slmgr.vbs -ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog! Replace the product key (XXXXX) with your legit one.

• Reboot the computer and your system should be activated. You can control it in the system properties

Uninstalling the OEM:SLP product key after testing:

• Click on "Start" and enter "cmd" in the search field, press "Enter" and right-click on it. Run it as Administrator. If needed, confirm with clicking on "Yes"
• Enter "cd\" in the command line, "Enter"
• Enter following command: 

slmgr.vbs -upk

Checking the activation status:

• Click on "Start" and enter "cmd" in the search field, press "Enter" and right-click on it. Run it as Administrator. If needed, confirm with clicking on "Yes"
• Enter "cd\" in the command line, "Enter"
• Enter following command: 

slmgr.vbs -dli

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!

slmgr.vbs -xpr

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!

slmgr.vbs -dlv

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!
 

Deactivating and re-enter trial period:

• Click on "Start" and enter "cmd" in the search field, press "Enter" and right-click on it. Run it as Administrator. If needed, confirm with clicking on "Yes"
• Enter "cd\" in the command line, "Enter"
• Enter following command: 

slmgr.vbs -rilc

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!

slmgr.vbs -cpky

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog!

slmgr.ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Press "Enter" and wait for the confirmation dialog! Replace the product key (XXXXX) with a trial key refering to your installed edition:

Windows Vista:
